Republic of Thrift (Sonoma)

Potential is there, but the execution and store organization makes the hunt a slog.

Republic of Thrift has a few things going for it: open tables to browse, a surprisingly charming craft section packed with knitting and sewing goodies, and plenty of clothing to sift through. But finding true gems felt tough. Fast-fashion pieces like SHEIN sat right beside higher-end brands like Ralph Lauren, making the hunt more frustrating than fun, and I left without much to show for it.

The biggest headache, though, was pricing—especially for clothing and kids’ items. Most pieces weren’t labeled at all, so you had to ask the register for every single thing, which made shopping clunky and honestly a little exhausting.

With clearer pricing and better organization, this shop could shine. As it stands, it’s a mixed bag.
